After an extensive search, I found this watch that is a true gem. It is well built, keeps excellent time, and is the most graceful looking alarm watch I have ever seen. The face is clean and simple, not packed with useless chronometer dials. There is no rotating bezel for tracking time intervals or to point northward. It is just a beautiful, classy watch with a date and alarm.
The dial is large and easy to read. The case and band are stainless steel and solidly built. The band has accents of pale gold that add a richness to its look. Also, the links are nicely rounded which, along with the excellent butterfly clasp, makes this a comfortable watch for guys who don’t want hair torn from their arm.
The alarm is mult-tone, rather than just the plain old “beep-beep”. It is extremely easy to set as is the date and time. By the smoothness of the setting stem and alarm button, you can definitely tell this is a quality piece.
Although it is water resistant, I would not wear this watch kayaking. However, I would wear it proudly to work and everywhere else. I have received several compliments on it and consider it one of my best purchases in a long time.
I have seen it going for $275 at the mall. I paid $225 myself, and this deal through Amazon is a very good one.
I have only one, small criticism - the hands glow weakly in the dark and the markings on the face do not glow at all. However, if you are a classy enough guy to sport this watch, you probably have lots of great dates and are not concerned about the time in the evenings!
